Dax Randall Shepard was born in Highland Township, Oakland County, Michigan, on the 2nd of January 1975 in an Atheism household. His father Dave Robert Shepard worked as a car salesman and was an engineer for the Corvette, while his mother Laura was a businessperson who use to work in public relations for general motors.
Shepard was just 3 years old when his parents divorced and then he moved with his mother who raised him as a single parent. Dax was in high school when his mom Laura LaBo decided to become a successful entrepreneur to feed his son properly. While growing up Dax also helped his mother and join her at the racetracks.
As a teen, Dax moved all around the places including Milford, suburban Detroit, and Walled Lake, Michigan.
